The 91³Ô¹ÏÍø Board of Trustees approved the establishment of two new schools – the School of Aeronautics and the School of Engineering – within the College of Aeronautics and Engineering during the Board’s regular quarterly meeting held June 25, 2025, on the Kent Campus.

Three friends who attended schools together their entire lives, beginning at Kent State’s Child Development Center, have graduated together in Kent State’s spring Class of 2025. Now, they are contemplating where their post-graduate lives will take them and how they will maintain their close friendship.

Elisa Grecar and her daughter Maddie McGee made a meaningful memory this May when they graduated together from 91³Ô¹ÏÍø – Grecar with a degree in psychology and McGee with a degree in zoology.

The 91³Ô¹ÏÍø Board of Trustees will hold its next regular business meeting at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 25, in the Timothy D. Eippert Boardroom, Suite 412, at Crawford Hall on the Kent Campus. 

An exhibit of rare Salvador Dalí paintings and a collection of garments designed by 91³Ô¹ÏÍø School of Fashion students inspired by the Dalí artwork has opened at Peg’s Gallery in Hudson, Ohio. 

Ohio Lt. Gov. Jim Tressel visited 91³Ô¹ÏÍø at Geauga on June 9 to tour its nursing program with President Todd Diacon and Geauga Dean Angela Spalsbury, Ph.D. Kent State Today was there when Tressel later took part in a roundtable discussion with Geauga County leaders and educators to share ideas on how best to prepare Ohio’s workforce.

Summer camps for kids interested in architecture don’t come along often – at least that’s what Elise Bolton’s mother discovered when she searched for one. But then, not a whole lot of 11-year-olds may dream of becoming architects. 

June 6th marks National Higher Education Day — a reminder of the transformative power of education and the challenges facing students across the nation.

More than 280 people attended the 2025 ITGA City & University Relations Conference, which kicked off at the Kent Student Center ballroom on June 4. Todd Kamenash, Kent State’s associate dean of students for conduct & community engagement, chaired the ITGA conference, which had the theme Communicate, Collaborate and Celebrate.
