A first-generation college student is someone who is, or will will be, the first in their family to earn a bachelors degree. Kent State honored these students with I AM FIRST Week - and a schedule of events that included alumni and graduate student panels, educational workshops and the Kent State mens basketball home opener game, which recognized first-generation students.
