The Board is scheduled to convene at 9 a.m. in the Event Space on the first floor of the university’s new Center for Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement, located at 350 S. Lincoln St. in Kent, Ohio. 91�Թ��� will hold its Spring 2016 Commencement ceremonies for the Kent Campus on Friday, May 13, and Saturday, May 14, at the Memorial Athletic and Convocation (MAC) Center, and on Friday, May 20, at Cartwright Hall. Kent State will confer 4,210 degrees, including 3,067 bachelor’s degrees, 968 master’s degrees, 169 doctoral degrees and six educational specialist degrees. Kent State competes in national fitness initiative  91�Թ��� is competing against employers across the country in the On The Move Challenge, a 12-week corporate fitness challenge promoting more movement throughout the workday. Nationwide, On The Move has 84 participating companies and 78,075 total participants. The companies are grouped by enterprises, businesses with more than 100 employees and small businesses – companies with fewer than 100 employees. Students from Kent State East Liverpool’s occupational therapy assistant program gathered at the downtown entrance ramp to the city to help spruce up the “serpentine” landscape of that area by pulling weeds, trimming shrubs, raking mulch and picking up litter. They joined efforts with the East Liverpool-Calcutta Garden Club members, who maintain that area of the city’s landscape. In 2014, less than four years after Continental and United announced that the airlines were merging operations, the newly expanded United shut down its hub at Cleveland Hopkins Airport. Since that time, the number of nonstop flights from the airport has dwindled from 58 to 15 – a nearly 75 percent decrease in two years. The Kent State Salem Campus paid tribute to community members, faculty, students and staff who are U.S. military veterans during a flag raising ceremony at the new front entrance to the building. Under a beautiful blue sky and with a crisp breeze, members of the Salem AMVETS Post 45 honor guard raised the U.S. flag while Peggy Elliott, a member of the Communiversity Choir, sang the national anthem.
