91Թ’s Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost Todd Diacon has announced that David Dees, Ph.D., has been appointed interim dean and chief administrative officer of the 91Թ Columbiana County campuses, effective July 1, 2016. Dees will provide overall leadership of 91Թ at East Liverpool and 91Թ at Salem, two of the Regional Campuses in the university’s eight-campus system.
The State of Ohio and the Department of Higher Education awarded 91Թ a $510,000 Regionally Aligned Priorities in Delivering Skills grant.
Beginning Tuesday, July 5, two-way traffic will resume in the construction area from East Campus Center Drive to Whitehall Boulevard. That section of roadway had been reduced to one-way, eastbound traffic since early March as part of the Summit Street: Building a Better Way Improvement Project.

The 91Թ Board of Trustees today established a comprehensive, national search to recruit and select the university’s 13th president.
The events of May 4, 1970, placed 91Թ in an international spotlight after a student protest against the Vietnam War and the presence of the Ohio National Guard ended in tragedy with four students losing their lives and nine others being wounded. From a perspective of nearly 50 years, Kent State remembers the tragedy and leads a contemporary discussion and understanding of how the community, nation and world can benefit from understanding the profound impact of the event.
