Undergraduate Summer Research Experience (REU)
We are waiting to hear if our REU program will receive funding for Summer 2026. In the meantime, we have opened our application and will post an update as soon as we receive it.
Since its inception, our REU program has hosted participants from across the country in the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry and the Advanced Materials and Liquid Crystal Institute research laboratories. From 2001-2015, 2017-2019, and 2022-2025, students have spent ten weeks collaborating with faculty and researchers on innovative projects in liquid crystals, biomaterials, nanomaterials, and biological membranes.
Beyond laboratory work, participants enjoy a variety of social activities, including sporting events, cultural outings, and canoe trips, creating a well-rounded and memorable summer experience.
Program Description
If we receive funding, our REU program is scheduled to run from Tuesday, May 26, 2026 - Friday, July 31, 2026.
