The College of Communication and Information (CCI) at 91³Ô¹ÏÍø is made up of five distinct schools.

We are the only college in the nation to combine a mix of technology, design, media, communication and information-related majors and programs.

  • Marcus Lehto, graduate of 91³Ô¹ÏÍø's Visual Communication Design program created a legendary game that became a legendary franchise. How Lehto's life took him from Kent, Ohio, to the Pacific Northwest to work on creating Halo, one of the most iconic video games, is the cover story in the November 2025 issue of the Kent State Magazine.

  • Daniel Alenquer, Director of Kent State's School of Visual Communication Design, spoke with Jeanne Destro, a morning host on WAKR about our newest degree offering the bachelor of science degree in User Experience Design. 

  • A team of four students from the School of Emerging Media and Technology in the Interdisciplinary Projects course pioneered the use of Depthkit 3D video at Kent State and created an engaging dance video in collaboration with the School of Theatre and Dance and Design Innovation.

  • A bachelor’s degree in user experience design is the newest offering in 91³Ô¹Ï꿉۪s College of Communication and Information, aimed at training graduates for one of the fastest-growing career fields.
