When it comes to compensation, we often think just of the dollars and cents we see in our paychecks. While we do not want to undervalue the importance of our salary, it is only part of the commitment the university makes to each of us. That commitment also comes in the form of health and welfare benefits, vacation benefits, tuition opportunities and retirement benefits. Total Compensation statements for calendar year 2015 are now available in FlashLine for all full-time employees hired on or before Jan. 1, 2015. This annual statement provides faculty and staff with a complete pict...

OTA Students Dig in at Entrance to City, Locke House

Students from Kent State East Liverpool’s occupational therapy assistant program gathered at the downtown entrance ramp to the city to help spruce up the “serpentine” landscape of that area by pulling weeds, trimming shrubs, raking mulch and picking up litter. They joined efforts with the East Liverpool-Calcutta Garden Club members, who maintain that area of the city’s landscape. Once finished, the students walked to The Locke House and cleaned up the landscaping and lawn at that location.  # # # Inside Photo: East Liverpool Mayor Ryan Stovall caught up with OTA students who were w...

In 2014, less than four years after Continental and United announced that the airlines were merging operations, the newly expanded United shut down its hub at Cleveland Hopkins Airport. The loss of direct access to a long list of destinations across the country was another blow to air travel at nearby large regional airports. In the past decade, Pittsburgh and Cincinnati also lost their hub status. Beginning May 3 and airing on four consecutive Tuesdays, WK...

Following the flag-raising, drill team members performed a 21-gun salute. Over recent months, the front entrance was completely redesigned and renovated, which eliminated the previous flag pole. ...
